You Are Blessed

7"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.  8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17: 7-8

Who do you place your trust in? The answer is not found in how you might reply verbally, but rather in your present living condition. In Jeremiah 17:4-7, the prophet proclaims, the Lord says you are either cursed or blessed based on whom you place your trust in. I believe everyone reading this newsletter desires to be blessed rather than cursed. It's a simple matter of whom you place your trust in. Our trust cannot be in something, but it must be in someone. Let me be clear, it must be in the Lord.

The text says those whose trust is in man or in the strength of flesh, heart will depart from the Lord. The result will be a life that reflects dullness, dryness, blindness to prosperity, and habitation in barrenness and deserted places. Does this sound like your life? Apart from the Lord, life is lifeless. Jesus comes to give us life and life more abundantly according to John 10:10.

Those who trust in the Lord are rooted and anchored in the Lord and not in themselves or others. The Lord describes this person as a tree planted by waters that is continually growing and being supplied by the source it resides next to. In the midst of adversity, this person will not worry or fear because their trust is in the Lord. They will remain vibrant, faithful and continue to abound in the midst of drought all around them. Those that trust in the Lord are not moved by what is seen on the surface because they live from above and their lives are hidden in Christ, with God. Col. 3:1-3

I declare unto you this day, you shall not experience another dry day in your life. Today is the day of salvation, it is the day the Lord has made and you shall rejoice and be glad in it. This day you will seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and everything you need shall be added unto you. He knows what you need before you ask. Trust Him and Him alone. There is no good thing in the flesh. Fear not little flock, it is the Father's good pleasure to give unto you the kingdom. In the midst of drought or economic downturn, you will not be in lack because you are rooted and grounded in Him who owns it all. Be encouraged and continue to trust Him.
