WOW - Happy Thanksgiving
Do you see what we've got? An unshakable kingdom! And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful, but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God. For God is not an indifferent bystander. He's actively cleaning house, torching all that needs to burn, and he won't quit until it's all cleansed. God himself is Fire!
Hebrews 12:28-29 The Message Bible
As you celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends, you are afforded the opportunity to pause for the cause and reflect upon what you are truly thankful for. Many will gather to eat a delicious meal and share their personal reflections. Some will say they are thankful for God, yet their personal lives reflect something entirely differently.
In the text above, the writer of Hebrews reminds us that we have an unshakable kingdom to be thankful for. The Message translation expresses it in a way that perhaps we do not realize what we really have and therefore are not thankful, nor respectful to the one that has provided it - God Almighty!
An unshakable kingdom provides stability in unstable times and security in an insecure environment. The times and seasons we live in are indicators that we must embrace and experience this God given kingdom. I remember my life before Christ (B.C). It appeared I had it all together on the outside, but inwardly I was unstable and moved by everything that happened to and around me. I am thankful I invited Jesus into my heart and life. He has taught me how to calm and quiet my soul. Psalm 131:2 It is in Him that I live, move and have my being.
These chaotic times we live in are causing many to look for something to grab a hold of that cannot be shaken. "Can you see what we got?" It's an unshakable kingdom that brings comfort in chaos. As this becomes clear to you, it will cause your thanksgiving to turn into reverent worship to God. With such reverence, you will begin to regard yourself as a citizen of an everlasting kingdom and never forget the King rules and reigns in your life and deserves all the praise, honor, and glory
Therefore, let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire,"
Happy Thanksgiving,
Pastor White
