Assembly Required

21 And having an high priest over the house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approachingHebrews 10:25 KJV

I can remember as a kid in school the excitement and anticipation I had when the teacher would inform us of an Assembly. I never missed one because it was always a special time away from my normal routine and it afforded me the opportunity to see my friends from other classes. We would file in class by class slowly changing the atmosphere of a once empty gymnasium into a place overflowing with expectancy that something good was about to happen.

In the text above, the writer shares with you the importance of attending the local church or assembly on a regular basis. In view of Jesus being the high priest, prophet, King, and Lord over the house of God, you must understand He is the main reason and main attraction that motivates you to assemble. It's all about Him! The writer further instructs you to draw near to God with a sincere heart, to hold tightly to the promises of God, and to consider ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

To assemble is to bring together, to put or fit together. It is imperative based on the chaos all around you to make church attendance a priority for you and your family. Although streaming technology gives us the ability to attend church while not even coming to the building, do not let that become your norm. Many saints are missing in action. I exhort you today by saying "Assembly Required". Do not be deceived, it's important to be a vessel of honor assembled in God's house excited and anticipating Him.

As you see the day of the Lord's return approaching, I exhort you to get excited about attending corporate worship, bible study, prayer or any other service your local church may have. The commitment you make will cause you to draw near to God, strengthen your faith, and encourage others unto love and good works.

Love, Peace and Blessing,
Pastor Eric
