Walking in Integrity

Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.  Proverbs 10:9

I am sure most of you have been following the recent news regarding high level CIA and military officials being involved in conduct that reflects negatively upon their ability to lead. The fallout has resulted in personal embarrassment, career ending implications, and strained relationships to name a few.  These individuals all have something in common that you must be cognizant of. They all failed to walk in Integrity.

According to webster's dictionary, Integrity is the firm adherence to a code of moral or artistic values. The quality or state of being sound, complete, or undivided.  There is an old saying that says, "if you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything." You must ask yourself not only what you stand for, but what are you standing on. What you stand for and on is connected to how you are walking and greatly influences who or what you are spending time with. The word teaches us not to walk in the counsel of the ungodly, stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the mockers, but to delight yourself in the law (word) of the Lord.

As men and women of God, you must stand firm and walk uprightly according to the truth of the Gospel. You must make the word of God the rule of your life and actions. None of us are perfect which indicates our need to trust in the perfect one. Your trust and confidence must be in Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. It is when you decide to turn and walk in your own way that you begin to walk crooked. It is in your crookedness or perverseness that you are exposed or found out.

In closing, integrity is of the heart. In your daily walk, look deep within and pull out what God has written upon the tablet of your heart. Cultivate this integrity through spending time in the word so that you will have a 'firm adherence to a code.' The only foundation worthy to stand upon is the one created by God. All others are as shifting sand. Please know the Father desires not to expose you, but to present you as light in the midst of darkness.

Much Love and Respect,

Pastor White
