Status Quo or Spirit Flow ?

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.  Acts 2:1-4

Is it going to be the status quo or will you allow the Spirt to flow in 2013?  I am currently reading a book entitled "Unleashed", which challenges the Church to make a greater impact upon the culture. This impact can only be realized through the person and ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Before His ascension, Jesus instructed His disciples to go to Jerusalem and wait for the promise of the Father. Acts 1:4 He knew the assignment ahead could not be completed in their own power or strength, but only by the Holy Spirit.  It was the same power that God anointed Jesus with, who then went about healing all who were under the influence of the devil. Acts 10:38

The plan and assignment the Father has for you, cannot be completed without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. In the text above, we see how the Holy Spirit came upon those who were on one accord in one place desiring to please God.

1.  He came suddenly
2.  He filled the place were they assembled
3.  He sat or rested on each of them
4.  He filled them with his presence

Life changed for those faithful disciples on that day.  They became bold and confident.  I encourage you to read the book of Acts and discover the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of ordinary people.  In Acts 17:6 -7, they were accused of turning the world upside down, doing contrary to the decrees of Caesar and proclaiming, "there is another King, one Jesus".  The word tells us that no one can say that "Jesus is Lord", except by the Holy Spirit.

Right now, I sense the presence and power of the Holy Spirit upon me. He is real and roaring on the inside of every believer.  He wants to use you and me to impact the culture for God's glory. Be forewarned!  With this power, you will undoubtedly cause a commotion wherever you go, just as Jesus and His first century followers did. When they showed up, the social, religious and political systems were confronted with the power of God. They were oftentimes persecuted, threaten, imprisoned, and flogged in an effort to silence their voice and influence.

Are you ready to move beyond the status quo and let the Spirit flow? Embrace the ministry of the Holy Spirit, who is unstoppable, undeniable, and gives you the unction to function for God.

Love, Peace and Blessing,
Pastor Eric
