Pray For Our Leaders

"I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth"
1 Timothy 2:1-4, NASB

As the election season draws to a close,  real work begins for those you elected to serve and lead our country. For many, there are insurmountable challenges ahead. Some of you may have not participated in the process, but you still have a voice.  Whatever your position or party affiliation, I encourage and urge you to pray for all our political leaders.

According to our text above, if we fail to pray and give God thanks for those in authority, it could lead to troubling times for the society we live in. When you pray, it gets the attention of God in heaven and places angels on assignment. The book of James reminds us the earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

The opening text also implies that your prayers can lead to your leader's salvation and knowledge of the truth. I hope you are excited that God desires to use you as an intercessor to intercept any unrighteous plans and intervene in the lives of those you have elected into public office. This means your responsibility is not over after the election, but only beginning.

The bible tells us in Romans 13:1 that everyone must submit themselves to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established.  The authorities that exist have been established by God. Since God has established all authority, I ask you to do that which is good and acceptable in His sight -  PRAY.

Much Love and Respect,

Pastor White
