Let This Be Your Season

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.  Psalm 1:1-3

 

Are you ready for 2013 to be your season? Above are principles that will ensure you bring forth your fruit in your season, be firmly planted, remain vibrant, and prosper in all you do.  If you implement these principles, you will be blessed (happy,fortunate).

  

1. Walk not in the counsel of the ungodly - His Counsel.  The counsel of the ungodly will always contradict the word of God. Godly counsel is critical to you walking in your season. Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety. Proverbs 11:14.    

 

2. Stand not in the way of sinners - His Way.  The sinner has his way of doing things which are contrary to the will/word of God.  To experience your season, ensure your ways are God's ways.  Endeavor to walk in the way of righteous with a heart that desires to please God.  

 

3. Sit not in the seat of the scorner or mocker - His Seat.  Do not allow yourself to sit with those who despise God and the truth of His word.  Sitting is a position of learning or being taught.  Make sure you are sitting in places that provides more than information and inspiration, but the revelation of God's word.  

 

The ungodly, sinners, and mockers all represent relationships that are not healthy for you.  Their conduct and character opposes the truth of God's word. As you fellowship with such, you are drawn away from God and ultimately undermine the plans He has for you. The psalmist  goes on to say, a blessed  person is one who delights themselves in the word and meditates upon it both day and night.  Let the word of God and the God of the word, rest, rule, and abide in your life.

 

I declare 2013 to be your season! I see you as God's tree of righteousness; walking in His counsel, standing in His ways, and sitting in His seat.
