Learn To Rule Well

Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."  Genesis 1:26 - New International Version

 

Today's word is the overflow of our Man2Man meeting on Wednesday evening.  We have been walking through an excellent book entitled "Kingdom Man" by Dr. Tony Evans. A Kingdom Man is every man's destiny and every woman's dream.  I highly recommend this book for every man. Although the book is written to empower men, I would like to share a word of encouragement that is applicable to all.  

   

In Genesis 1:26, you discover that God has made you in His likeness and image and has given you a mandate to rule or have dominion. He has entrusted you to manage everything placed within your realm of influence. In Genesis 1:28, God blessed mankind and instructed them to be fruitful, to multiply, to replenish the earth, and to subdue it. This indicates God's desire for you to increase and expand what He gives.  

  

Here are a few nuggets of truth that will help you rule well as you go forward fulfilling God's destiny for your life.  

 

1. Realize God has a specific plan for you. In order to  discover that specific plan, examine your passions, abilities, personality, and experiences, then uncover where those four converge. This will help reveal the plan God has destined for you to increase and expand. 

 

2. Recognize that God is the ultimate owner. You are God's reflection and image-bearer responsible to mirror God's character and ways. Your decisions directly affect the quality of life within your realm of influence and has a large bearing on whether your realm will increase or decrease with time. God didn't stop Adam from eating the fruit, but He controlled the consequences when Adam did eat the fruit, thus limiting Adam's dominion or rule from what it had originally been ordained to be.

  

3. Resist doing it your own way. In order to rule well, you must learn to do well according to the owner's manual

In other words, we must learn to allow the word of God to rule over our lives.  God blessed them... it takes a team to fulfill the dream. God will bring others into your realm to assist you and will also use you in helping make someone else's dream a reality thus fulfilling your own.    

 

Take an inventory of what's in your realm and ask why is it not expanding or increasing.  It may not be God's plan for your life or you are not be ruling well.  Be confident in this, God has created and blessed you to RULE WELL.
