Embracing a Change of Season

20 Daniel answered and said: "Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. 21He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; 22 he reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him. 23 To you, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise........    Daniel 2:20-23a ESV

This Sunday at 2 a.m. you are to move your clocks forward one hour for the start of daylight savings time. This change indicates a new season is around the corner.  According to the calendar, Spring officially begins just 10 days after this time adjustment. We are all ready to SPRING FORWARD and move beyond the fruits of winter: snow, cold temperatures and gloomy days with eager anticipation to embrace sunshine and warmer temperatures.

There is someone reading today saying, I need a new season in my life. You are ready to move beyond your current situation and circumstances.  There is someone else enjoying their season not understanding it will soon change.  No matter what season you are experiencing you can embrace and enjoy it, if you know the God of all seasons. In the text above, Daniel's confidence was in the God that changes seasons to whom he prayed on a consistent basis. Daniel rehearses the greatness and goodness of his God and gives Him thanks and praise for revealing until him the King's matters. Daniel not only embraced his own season but was used by God to reveal the times and seasons of others.

I have learned to embrace every change of season in my life through knowing the God of all seasons. This knowledge comes as a result of consistent fellowship
primarily through prayer and the study of His word. It is there that He reveals himself and the deep and hidden things. I encourage you to increase fellowship with your heavenly Father who changes all seasons to include yours. The book of Psalms 1:1-3 tells you, you are blessed if you meditate on the word both day and night and you will be like a tree planted by the rivers of living water, yielding your fruit in your season, whose leaf does not whiter, and everything that you do shall prosper.

Be assured that God has your seasons in His hand and you can embrace and enjoy them as you continue to embrace and enjoy His presence. SPRING FORWARD this day and allow God to use you in every season.

Love, Peace and Blessing,
Pastor Eric
