A Vote and A Vow

20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear 21 so that I return safely to my father's household, then the Lord will be my God 22 and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God's house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth. Gensis 28:20-22

As you approach this National election season, you are afforded the opportunity to vote for candidates you deem most capable to serve and lead our nation.  These people will occupy Capitol Hill and one the White House.   As a mouth piece for God, I sense this same season is a set time for the body of Christ to look unto the hills from where our help comes.  Our help comes from the Lord who made the heavens and the earth.  Psalms 121:1-2.

As a nation, our backs are against the wall both morally and economically. It appears we only have two choices.  I submit to you, we have a third choice, the one who stands above it all. Genesis 28:13.

According to the opening text, Jacob made a vow unto God. A vow is a sovereign promise made to God, by doing or giving something, through saying something. Jacob was on the run and lighted upon a place.  He had a "paga" moment in his life.  It's a moment in life when all seems lost and suddenly you fall upon, meet and encounter God. We are in a "paga" moment as a nation and as a church.  It's time to make a vow unto God.  As I proclaimed on Sunday, "You Got Nothing to Lose". He is the possessor of heaven and earth, your maker and creator, the one who stands above all.

Corporately, it's time to make a vow by asking God to scatter our enemies and allow our nation to return to Him. As a result of His mercy and kindness toward us, we will dedicate ourselves as tools in His hand to advance His kingdom.

Personally, it's time for you to make a vow by asking God to do what Capitol Hill and the White House can't do for you. What is your need? It is His pleasure to give unto you the kingdom. When you make your vow unto God, make sure it aligns with His word. You must be willing to pay your vow when God brings it to pass.  Determine what you are going to do or give God for bringing His promises to pass in your life.

As you cast your vote, make your vow, because "You Have Nothing to Lose" when you put your trust in God.

Much Love and Respect,

Pastor White
